Re: Off topic - shielding?
AK, I always enjoy the technical aspects of your posts, they often remind me how well I did not study in tech school ;) Several things you mentioned in the last post relate to an aspect of rf-broadcast I've been increasingly wondering as I learn more about the potential using high-tech RF gear for weaponry. ( for instance, shielding VS penetrating effects of lower frequencies VS higher). Just curious what your thoughts are on the topic of shielding when it comes to microwave signals. I'll try to keep the backdrop to the overall question fairly simple and avoid getting into a lot of the technical details as they may apply to the conspiratorial applications of some higher frequency transmissions.
As a rough gauge, assume "microwave appl" in this case is something/anything that utilizes the effects of frequencies about 100MHz all the way through the Gig range of UHF/SHF & EHF. Also assume that the basic technology and gear being used starts with those monstrosities that have increasingly littered our global landscape over the past 5 years or so and for which the average person, even those uninterested and without any background in RF has been well conditioned to think of and speak to others of as - "
Cell Phone towers and or radio/TV towers"; and while these transmitters may be generating Microwave carrier frequencies, their payload signals may be much lower, for instance such as audio within human range of hearing (20-20KHz) or (allegedly) ELF that are within the range of signals that operate specific functions within the human brain (0 to 30 Hertz, IE> Alpha, Beta, Delta, etc). Within this broad topic of conspiracy, it's also widely said that such hi-tech high-freqency Microwave signals CANNOT effectively be shielded against, they penetrate pretty much anything and everything - wood, metal, stone, buildings, earth, water, flesh, bones, etc., which of course potentially makes just about any living thing, human or otherwise, that should happen to come within their reach, susceptible to their effects (whether they manifest physically and or mentally).......... just on the odd chance that such technology IS in fact being covertly used for multi-use purposes beyond the obvious commercial purposes, of course :)
I've tried considering the various angles to this question, but I'm asking you just from an electronics-theory point of view, is it it true that these high-freq Microwave frequencies (or even higher ones beyond, like X-Ray, Ultra-violet, etc) cannot be effectively shielded? Now that I think about it, if this is the case, why is it dentists usually put that heavy lead apron around patients then scurry out of (supposed) range before snapping X-ray photos? Furthermore, why are such clunky aprons not properly grounded before being used? ;) ..... but I digress. Care to take a whack at the Microwave/shielding question? Thanks!
