I think I just saw a Zapper on the news!

I was just watching the late night news and the subject of the A.I.D.S. conference came up. I sometimes thing the late news is a little more 'cynical' than the earlier versions, so I found myself watching and reading into what the reporter was saying. At the end of the story they featured a man who I think was called Gerald Thompson and who it seemed had made a device which he claimed cured A.I.D.S within 4-6 weeks. They mentioned it was an electro-medical device and it looked very simular to a Clark Zapper. I've done a couple of breif searches for the name but am getting alot of stuff about other Gerald Thompsons. Did anyone else see it? I'm in SE Queensland, Australia.(-:
