Re: anyone smoking whilst on the MC?
Not this kid, cowboy! I quit six weeks ago - drinking too (always my downfall before - that fallacy that I could drink without smoking). Part of the reason I'm doing this is to assist my mental resolve by clearing my cellular memory.
Smoking - don't let anyone kid you. It's the mental need for it that brings people back to it when they've quit after a year, two, three, more. It doesn't help when the physical part kicks in.
I heartily encourage you to use the MC to quit physically, and in the meantime, do some soul searching as to why you smoke to begin with. Mine was security. Mark your triggers: coffee, alcohol, socializing, the newspaper, whatever. Contact the local cancer society for one of their cessation programs and some literature.
My apologies - somewhat (cause I'm not going back and erasing the post!). You asked a simple question and I got self righteous and on a pedestal.
Do what you can do.
