Re: blood sugar crash, fall down go boom
OUCH - I'm sporting a few bruises from that fall myself. I'm hypoglycemic - I thought this one would be okay because there's so much touting of the "not hungry" thing, but it became very apparent halfway into day one I needed to quit or find a solution.
I (loosely) followed Burrough's suggestions for diabetics (molasses) the rest of day one, and that helped a bit, but not enough. Day 2 I factored in some protein mix - 1 scoop, and 1 scoop today as well (day 3). It's Jarrow's unflavored whey protein - and no, it doesn't cause mucus. I throw everything in a blender because otherwise the protein floats in globs on top.>
I am gradually increasing the maple syrup and decreasing the protein, and tomorrow I'll jettison the protein and factor in spirulina instead. Spirulina has less protein in it, but it's more "MC correct" since it's a deviation in the first place. If I need to, I'll just go back to dropping a bit of whey back in there.
So any combo of that might help and certainly on a modified level if you are NOT hypoglycemic. I am constantly just slightly hungry, but I down a 12 oz glass about every two hours, and other than being a tad abstract and ungrounded, I'm doing much better than I had expected, considering low blood sugar and fasts go together about as well as cauliflower and Captain Crunch in the same bowl.
Hope that helps -
