Christian-right views are swaying politicians and threatening the environment

A kind of secular apocalyptic sensibility pervades much contemporary writing about our current world. Many books about environmental dangers, whether it be the ozone layer, or global warming or pollution of the air or water, or population explosion, are cast in an apocalyptic mold. - Historian Paul Boyer

"When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale; the sky vanished like a scroll that is rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place ..." - Revelation 6:12-14

[.... But a scripture-based justification for anti-environmentalism -- when was the last time you heard a conservative politician talk about that?

Odds are it was in 1981, when President Reagan's first secretary of the interior, James Watt, told the U.S. Congress that protecting natural resources was unimportant in light of the imminent return of Jesus Christ. "God gave us these things to use. After the last tree is felled, Christ will come back," Watt said in public testimony that helped get him fired.

Today's Christian fundamentalist politicians are more politically savvy than Reagan's interior secretary was; you're unlikely to catch them overtly attributing public-policy decisions to private religious views. But their words and actions suggest that many share Watt's beliefs. Like him, many Christian fundamentalists feel that concern for the future of our planet is irrelevant, because it has no future. They believe we are living in the End Time, when the son of God will return, the righteous will enter heaven, and sinners will be condemned to eternal hellfire. They may also believe, along with millions of other Christian fundamentalists, that environmental destruction is not only to be disregarded but actually welcomed -- even hastened -- as a sign of the coming Apocalypse.]

45% of the country's population believe that they will see the end of the world in their lifetime... either from a nuclear war or Armageddon, what is Armageddon? The "last war between God and the devil, good and evil" a belief held by large groups with a religious belief of a punitive God, sin and punishment. Each group or sect firm in their belief that they are fighting a 'Holy War' and God will smite their enemy. The rewards are in an afterlife, so sacrifice of this life, and killing in the name of God is not only acceptable but will gain higher rewards and something that will come to pass - without doubt.

What does this mean?
That it is a powerful intent, in their everyday thinking, and in daily prayer - for many twice a day. So what are they doing? They are passionately creating a future for the world, for us...The outcome they want. And what are we, the 55% who do not hold these religious beliefs doing? Unfortunately, not much. We are scattered in our beliefs, so our intent is scattered.

Think what an effect that has - in a common example, think of two sport teams... one has teamwork, a strong belief that working together for the team and the goal: that translates to focus and intent. The other team is each playing for only their goal, unmindful of the rest of the team. Which team is more likely to score higher, create better plays, have the stronger defense and offense? - Most of us devote our days thinking and living the status quo, mostly unaware of how our future is being molded, directed in ways we would not want. Be it by government, big business, society.

Every person is the Observer of quantum physics, every person's intent, thought, and desire, affects the quantum field. Call it science, spirituality, big mojo, or wishful thinking... it doesn't matter - it is what we do.

Even if you don't believe that any of this is true, are you willing to bet your life on it? Isn't it worth a bit of research, maybe even a shift in thinking? Quantum physics says the observer determines the outcome of how elementary particles will behave... this is how our reality is created. So we have 45% of the observers in this country focusing on Armageddon... religiously.

We, your hosts, are non-partisan. We have always voted for the person not the party, an we much prefer to broadcast wondrous possibilities - not gloom and doom. But the devastation of the planet's's resources, the deterioration of our children's health and well-being, the lives of brave young men and women in faith-based or business-based wars, and so many more indignities, are worse than they have ever been. All for the sake of some corporation, party, group, or individual's bottom line. So, we have to speak out.

My Summary:

What can we do?

We can intend an earth paradise, here and now.
With beings of higher awareness, the universe allows more manifesting power to be utilized by them ( a universal checks and balances system). Some who study cosnciousness are suggesting the progression of awareness and that the power attached to each level is logrithmically increased, meaning that one person who vibrates "higher" can balance off the negative energy of many people vibrating lower which in turn affects the average of the total collective conscious. In other words, people with higher awareness can hold space for the rest of consciousness with the intent for the betterment of all. One just has to realize it and be aware of it.

Awareness and proper response to it, is very powerful.
I suggest that power be used.
