"Bundle Your Napkin.

If our heavenly Father blesses you with the opportunity to travel to Israel, or if you are blessed with an invitation to dine in an Orthodox Jewish home, a good knowledge of Jewish courtesy and custom may be helpful.

Here is how Yeshua, our Example, handled matters of Jewish etiquette:

Yeshua, Eating and Drinking with Tax Collectors and Sinners:
Middle Eastern tradition has it that if one eats another man's bread, he is bound to be friends with him for life.

Also, if one has been blessed by the opportunity to break bread, and has had a good time, and would like to be invited back some time (and would gladly return if invited) it is customary at the end of the meal, to bundle up one's napkin neatly, and to place it at the side of one's place setting.

How did Yeshua observe this?
Yeshua, the Bread of Life:
[48] "I am the Bread of Life.
[49] "Your fathers ate mah-nah ("What is it?") in the wilderness, and died.
[50] "This is the Bread coming down out of the Heaven; that anyone may eat of it and not die.
[51] "I am the living Bread that came down out of the Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live to the age. And indeed the bread which I give is My flesh, which I give on behalf of the life of the world."
[52] Then the Yahudim argued with one another, saying, "How is this one able to give us His flesh to eat?"
[53] Then Yeshua said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you do not have Life in yourselves.
[54] "The one eating of My flesh and drinking My blood has everlasting Life; and I will raise him up in the last day.
[55] "For My flesh is truly food, and My blood is truly drink.
[56] "The one eating of My flesh and drinking My blood abides in Me, and I in him."
[57] "Even as the living Father sent Me, and I live through the Father, also the one eating Me, even that one will live through Me.
[58] "This is the bread which came down out of Heaven; not as your fathers ate the mah-nah, and died. The one eating of this Bread will live to the age.
[59] He said these things teaching in a synagogue in Kephar Nahum.

Yeshua Shares the Fellowship Meal:
[26] And as they ate, taking the bread and blessing it, Yeshua broke and gave of it to the disciples, and said, "Take; eat. This is My Body."
[27] And taking the cup, and giving thanks, He gave to them, saying, "Drink all of it.
[28] "For this is My blood of the Renewed Covenant which is poured out for many, for the remission of sins.

This Last Supper was the fellowship meal.
Yeshua Bundles His Napkin:
[1] And in the night that was dawning at the first day of the week (after Sabbath, when it got dark), Miriam from Magdala came early to the tomb. And she saw the stone that had been removed from the tomb.
[2] Then she ran and came to Shimon Kefa (Simon Peter), and to the other disciple whom Yeshua loved, and said to them, "They took away our Adon out of the tomb, and we do not know where they put Him!"
[3] Then Kefa and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb. [4] And the two ran together, and the other disciple (Yochanan) ran in front more quickly than Kefa, and came first to the tomb.
[5] And bending down, he saw the linens lying; however he did not go in.
[6] Then Shimon Kefa came following him, and went in to the tomb; and he saw the linens lying.
[7] And the face cloth which was on His head was not lying with the linens, but apart, having been wrapped up in one place by itself.
[8] Therefore, then the other disciple also went in, the one coming first to the tomb: Even he saw and believed.
[Yochanan 20:1-8]

"Even he saw and believed what?"
We know that nothing in the inspired Word of Elohim is there either by accident, or for general light-reading purposes. Therefore, what was it that Kefa and Yochanan saw that was so significant; and what was it that they believed?
"Behold! I Will Come Again."
Yeshua is the Bread of Life.

By properly wrapping up the napkin that had covered the Bread of Life while it was in the grave, placing it at the side of His place setting, there in the tomb, Yeshua signaled to His disciples that He had enjoyed His Last Supper with them; and that He would gladly come again to them, if He were invited. Therefore the disciples knew that Yeshua would come again unto them; for He had signaled it by perfect Jewish etiquette.
Come quickly, Husband, and redeem Your bride from her sins; and teach her Your ways, that she might not defile Your table.

Blessed is He who comes in the Name of YHWH.
