Hello Jeannette
Hi Jeannette,
Your method of evangelization and Christian teaching perplexes me.
For some reason, you seem inclined to stick the doctrine of the ‘eternal decrees of God’, into people’s faces in a way that is not simply worthy of this great doctrine. Certainly, this is an extremely difficult subject to discuss anywhere, but it is especially difficult to do in an on-line forum such as this. I agree with you that this doctrine is so Biblical that it must be reckoned with by all Christians. In many ways, it is much like comprehending the Holy Trinity....it’s Biblical, yet beyond the complete comprehension of our human minds.
I don’t know why you seem to be on a mission to present this doctrine in such an ‘in your face’ manner. Your methods are not convincing anyone of what you want them to believe.
Many great men of the faith have held to this Biblical doctrine, including Martin Luther, John Calvin, Charles Spurgeon, George Whitefield, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, D. James Kennedy, and many others. These men have studied and taught this doctrine for many years. Perhaps you should spend some time studying their writings in addition to your Bible and learn how they articulated this extremely complex subject.
I recommend that you read the book 'Great Doctrines of the Bible' by Martyn Lloyd-Jones. It’s actually 3 books in one, including ‘God the Father, God the Son’, ‘God the Holy Spirit’, and ‘The Church and Last Things’. This book is an absolute gem and it is must reading for every Christian. It is especially important that you read it.
