I'm a lifelong bachelor who knows
little or nothing about tiny babies.
I think Ev has given you very good
advice.
If the child were mine, I would give
him 500 mg of sodium ascorbate
crystals, mixed into whatever liquids he is drinking. As Ev said,
it that's too much, the baby will
have a mild case of diarrhea.
If he doesn't have diarrhea, then
it means his immune system is using
the vitamin C to keep him healthy.
In that case, I'd be tempted to give
him more -- maybe 750 mg, or maybe
even 1000 mg (1 gram). I'd want to
know what his bowel tolerance is.
I'm sorry to learn that the baby
wasn't breast-fed. You never know
what goes into a formula. But I'm
out of my depth discussing baby
formulas. I'll let Ev and the other
women advise you about that.
