flu shot

Hi! I'm from Romania and here there's a campaign to have flu shots every autumn. Our emplyers even offered us free vaccine. i took a shot last year it was ok, i did not get any flu or cold, but this year, 2 days after a flu shot, i got REALLY sick: diarhea, headaches, fever ( 37.6 which is pretty high for me) It lasted only for a day.... I even asked myself if it was because of the shot of not, becuse none of my colleagues have had something similar. My hussby took yesterday some homeophatics pills - a softer vaccine he believed, but it happened the sme: headaches, diarhea, fever. Could it be a coincidence? what can we do to avoid flu? we can't avoid crowd, and we are in contact with peole closely - we both work in a telecom company. Thanks!
