Panax Ginseng roots have been prepared in a particular way for hundreds of years. They were heated to a high temperature to dry them so they would keep (like beef jerky) for a long time (10 years). They recognized that heating to a high temperature destroyed some constituents of the root, so they added some Cinese herbs to reconstitute it. The resulting Panax Ginseng Root (with herbs) was so potent that it was recommended for adults only and not more than 3 or 4 times a year. It was not safe for people with asthma or hypertension.
