You still have to be careful about dentists that say that they will not use amalgam. I have a friend who took her son to a dentist, she told the dentist no Amalgam and the dentist agreed to use 'white' fillings. The dentist would not allow her in the room with her son (but her son was about 7 and not afraid). After her son came out with an Amalgam filling! Another dentist in the office had done the filling. They couldn't take it out because it filled so much of the tooth.
