Lost and casting for meaning... could #'s be a guide?

What an excellent forum. I hope I'm not being too selfish in asking for assistance (of course I understand if none comes)...

I have usually relied on astrology to help guide me, and it's been a centering tool; however, recently I've noticed patterns in numbers and heard whiffs of "power in numbers" sorts of things from various sources.

I thought I'd cast my lot here. I'm November 20, 1971. Last year was the most turbulent year of my life, and I'm still reeling from it. I find myself in doldrums and am worried that I might hide in a protector for my life - sit this one out so to speak.
