Yes I remember reading that you should never compliment to impress or flatter but rather only if you see the complimentary aspect naturally. SO that is what I try to follow. People come up to me and say "I like that suit" or whatever, but the ones I appreciate say "I like how those beige tones accent your skin and it gives you an earthy feel" It just has so much more love and honest feel to it and I will open up more with thay type. I'm still working on this myself but I try to never give false compliments. I would sound very calculated and robotic. The compliment that made me blush recently was when I was walking into a grocery store with my 2 sons and a woman exclaimed "Wow you must have some good seed!" I was embarrassed but It made me feel very good, cause it's true!!!
