Re: acid reflux and hiatal hernia
OK, Are you trying to diagnose something as either acid reflux or hiatal hernia?
Over production of HCl in the stomach, which can be aggravated by eating acid producing foods and eating late at night. Focus on eating more alkalizing foods, like vegetables and fruits (NO soda, tomato sauce, meats, dairy, coffee) . A product by "garden of life", I think its called "acid defense" can be helpful. There are a lot of products out there for this.
Hiatal hernia is when your stomach comes through the esophageal hiatus, which is a hole in the diaphragm. Normally the esophagus is above this hole and the stomach is below it. The pain should be worse than acid reflux. It can cause regurgitation and eventually lead to an ulcer in the esophagus. This can be serious. Since its a physical displacement of the stomach, I do not know what alternative approach there is for this. I only know about surgery, but maybe someone else knows something.
You may want to see a professional for a consult.
