You can do it, just be prepared to be extra-tired as your body is already "cleansing" and you'll be putting an extra load on it by flushing.

I did it right before my period (I think it brought it on early) and it went fine but I was exhausted and had very heavy bleeding.

I posted on the Ask Andreas Forum and he said the heaviness was normal as the body is using the menstrual blood as a means of eliminating toxins.
