I agree that these new developments could ignite a new arms race, but
as far as proliferation goes, we've already triggered it by defining
various countries as evil, etc. We have shown that we will attack soverign nations without reasonable cause. If I was a nation that even suspected I had treasure that caught the eye of the U.S., I would go forward with a weapons program for my protection. I certainly wouldn't count on treaties made between myself and the U.S. - Treaties mean nothing to this administration. The neo-cons have truly made us a nation to be feared, mistrusted and... hated.
