And y'all think Arkansas is bad? At least I've never fried an egg on the pavement, of course, the nearest pavement is several miles from my house. Not long after I read your first post, the power went off here. Thirty minutes before I needed to leave for church (VBS), dripping wet hair, and no power. I called the local electric co-op to report the outage, then rummaged around in the dark house to find something decent to wear that didn't need ironing. I finally found what I call a Fibromyalgia dress because its light and loose to wear when I have a lot of pain. I slipped on the dress and sat on the front porch swing to put on a little make-up. I twisted up my wet hair and left for church. I found the Ozarks Electric truck lost on the wrong dirt road, I should have stopped and helped them, but didn't. Luckily when I arrived home the power was back. It doesn't take much to go from computers, satellite TV and microwaves back to kerosene lamps and the trusty outhouse of yesteryear. Such was my day.
