*I'm writing this post especially for those whose feathers are ruffled by the use of the word *SHIT*...once you know the history of the word it should no longer offend you.
In the days prior to chemical fertilizers...back in the good ol' days...manure was the primary means of enriching crops and increasing output. Manure was routinely shipped over seas and was first dehydrated so that it weighed less for transport. If water entered the ship hull the manure would again rehydrate and begin decomposing...giving off gasses like methane. To prevent this from happening the manure was elevated in the ship's hull and stamped *SHIPPED HIGH IN TRANSIT*. S.H.I.T. became the shortened code used to indicate that manure was the cargo!
So now you know where the word SHIT comes from...nothing vulgar about it!
