My friend took me to see this awful movie "40 days and 40 Nights" about a young college guy who quits sex for 40 days.

What is the longest time you have gone without sex? Why, and how did you handle it? Weeks? Months? Years???? Have you gone without for so long that you feel like a virgin again?

I would not ask without divulging my own dry spell, its been 1 year now, and I am proud of it. I decided that after all of the mistakes I have made I would take a break from sex, to make sense of my life and learn from my past mistakes.

My two longest relationships (1st was 10 months, second was 2 years) were ruined by sex in my opinion. So I decided to retreat and learn as much about myself and women as I could with sex out of the equation.

I finally feel ready to jump back ino that hot and sweaty pool of lust and wanted to get some insight from my fellow forumites.
