How can Reiki help me more in my situation

I’m not sure where to start .

Here goes anyway, about 3 years ago I was diagnosed with a tumour in my hearing nerve, right side. It’s called an acoustic neuroma. I’ve been told it’s not cancerous, it’s benign. Non-the-less it’s a brain tumour, My hearing is very poor in that ear and because the hearing nerve runs very close to the facial nerve, my facial muscles are also affected The way in which these tumours work is that they are slow growing, so mine is currently monitored on a 9 month basis using an MRI scan. My next scan is due now.

The last scan I had, July ‘04 showed that there was no change in the volume of the tumour, although my hearing had deteriorated. The consultant wants me to have an operation as soon as possible to have the tumour removed. I’m reluctant as I have two small children, the youngest is only one and a half. The operation would mean I would be unable to move around for at least 2 months as my balance will be affected, my hearing in that ear will completely go, and there is a strong chance that my facial muscle will be affected during the operation, resulting in facial palsy.

I’m currently seeing a homeopath, through recommendations of a friend, who had a tumour on her Pituatory gland 7 yrs ago, which completely disappeared 3 yrs ago.

After the last scan reports, I felt that I needed to do more. I’ve had some food tests done by the homeopath, which showed I should completely avoid yeast, Mono-Sodium-Glutamat (Natrium Glutamat) and hydogenated fats, and eat certain foods in moderation, e.g potatoes. I’m also taking Omega 3 and 6 and avoiding dairy products, fizzy drinks and caffeine.

I have also had Reiki attunements done, so that I can do self healing.

In December ’04, I lost my mum to breast cancer. As you can imagine it was absolutely devastating for me. Initially I tried to stay focused on my own condition.
However I’m now finding it really hard to stay focused and motivated. I look to Reiki to help me through the difficult times, but find that when the symptoms of my tumour are playing up, I seem to loose my will to fight this. The symptoms I get are, I think caused by my facial muscle not working properly, so my eye goes blurry, and my face feels tender on that side. I also find that when I cry (which I’ve been doing a lot of lately), my eye on the affected side just wells up and tears don’t fall. I also sometimes get really bad headaches.

The reason for posting on here is so I can get advice on how Reiki can help me more with my situation and how to remain focused and motivated in my cause.
