Hi, im a newbie to Reiki with questions!

Hi folks, I never heard of Reiki until later last year. I didnt take it very seriously until my boyfriend told me his experience.

He has an elderly neighbor who is a Reiki "Master" of some sorts, who he visited. The guy was either sitting next to my boyfriend, or was doing some sort of reading on him when he pulled back suddenly as if jolted back. He told my boyfriend, "Whoooooaa!!! your energy level is so intense, it's overpowering! His reaction to the energy field in and around my boyfriend was that of an electric shock almost!

Other folks couldnt sense it, but apparantly this man has intuitive talents where he can sense people's energies.

I was impressed, as --yes- my boyfriend sure has alot of energy in him! So much so that I teasingly yell at him because he doesnt realize that the rest of his loved ones need sleep and cant give him attention 24/7.

My boyfriend also 'healed" himself from a stomach virus by massaging his stomach area. With his hands he "pushed' the virus into his intestinal tract so that the digestive fluids would kill the virus- rather than remain in his body. As soon as he "pushed the area he felt had the virus into his intestines-- he could hear all that gurgling noise that comes with the digestive process.

His healing after that was almost immediate- compared to the rest of his family.

Can anyone fill me in on the basics of Reiki-- is it something that any of us can do if we are in tune with our bodies and others?

I know without a doubt that each person has some sort of energy field around them. I've felt it many a times. I've also felt when i'm being stared at from behind, and I instinctively turn my head to see someone staring then quickly turn their head away.
