Re: Migraine Headaches - Will Ozone treatments help?

Migraines are generally caused by seratonins released by red cell plateletes. Certain chemicals causes their release. A study in Italy found that 25% of migraines are also caused by the bacteria, H pylori.

An age old treatment for migraines uses the natural herb, feverfew. One of the natural substance contained in feverfew is pathenolide. However, not all feverfew have adequate amounts in good quality of this substance especially those in North America. There are only 2 sources I know that are able to culture the feverfew that has high amount of feverfew with the quality of pathenolide required.

One of the source is in UK, an specially organically grown feverfew with high amounts of good quality pathenolide. Several clinical placebo trials by several universities have found that it is able to treat individuals with migraines effectively. Unfortunately, long term effect is not known. In any event, it is not recommended that consumption should exceed 4 months. Effect can only be felt after consumption for 1 to 2 months.

In some cases, consumption may cause oral ulcers especially those who tried the raw leaves of feverfew. Other than this disadvantage, this particular feverfew had been approved as a drug in Canada and approved with a DIN #.

Hope this is helpful
