Very interesting! I believe the close work, combined with the use of corrective lenses, make the eyes adapt to the close work, and then too much insulin and its effects on other hormones, plus a lack of antioxidants, make in sort that the eyes can't adapt back.
Still don't know if a cure is possible though...
If I recall correctly, the whole Bates theory is that the eye length is dependant on the contraction of muscles, and not something fixed.
I don't know if I should get eye laser surgery or not...
