I have used the pinhole glasses and they do work with drawbacks. First it takes much more light than regular glasses or normal eyesight and they did nothing to improve the sight when not wearing. You can get the same effect for demonstrative purposes by punching a pinhole in a playing card and looking through it. It cuts out the side light allowing the eye to focus sharply on the small angle of light entering the eye.
