I am a healthy 31 year old female. For over a year now I have a spot in my left eye field of vision. The spot is brown and threadlike about the size of a small ant. I saw an eye doctor a year ago when I first noticed it. He did not dilate my eyes but said it was probably a "floater" which had become stuck in one place. Now it is a year since I was seen. The spot is still there and recently it seems a bit bigger (more thread like pieces). It moves with my eye as I see and isn't terribly annoying. I mostly notice it when reading or looking at something with a white background. Would a "floater" remain in the same place for such a long period of time? Is this symptomatic of a more serious eye condition? Other than this my eyes are fine except for requiring glasses for vision correction.
