Re: Metabolic Resistance

As Grog said, you can do a series of Liver Flushes without herbal mixtures...most of the ingredients come from your kitchen. If you have any liver congestion...and most people do...your body will not process fats as it should and your body will accumulate toxins as the liver is the primary organ of detoxification. Toxins are stored in fat and your body will be less inclined to give up its fat reserves because this is one way that the body protects organ and tissue damage by suspending toxins. A congested liver, stored fat and increased toxicity makes for a very sluggish body and contributes to a slowed metabolism.

You also need to watch your carb intake as swings in blood Sugar and insulin also contribute to disturbances in metabolism...research Syndrome X and Metabolic Syndrome.

I assume that you have had your thyroid checked out...if not, you should. Your thyroid gland greatly influences your metabolism. And your adrenal glands are closely connected to your thyroid function...and again, all are connected to your liver function.

I would also encourage you to take up resistance training...adding muscle mass will increase your metabolism. You don't need to bulk up...just tone and strengthen.

I had some stubborn pounds that would not come off in spite of doing cardio...doing a series of Liver Flushes and adding resistance training was the key, and I was amazed and delighted with how easily the pounds shed!!!
