Re: at it again

Just read your message now and no one has answered you! You did really well in 10 lbs. in 2 weeks. and it is the best diet as it is the most healthy. Now proven by at least 3 major studies that really didn't want to come up with good results on atkins! So their response? We will have to study it some more! Anyway you wanted good stories. So here goes. I did well but had only 15 or 20 lbs. to lose. [i don't know because i broke the first rule; weigh yourself before you atart]. Have kept it off for a year and love the way of eating. I never ate so much nor so many salads! Husband went off all blood pressure and cholesterol med. and lost about 40 lbs. he is maintaining and actually losing very slowly now. He is below his original goal. Forgot to mention my best result was that I felt better almost immediately and don't fall asleep as soon as dinner is over. I have 2 daughters on it also who have done very well. They are maintaing also as have met their goals. [actually the one daughter wants to lose a bit more but is comfortable where she is]. They did not have tons to lose I guess about 20 or 25 lbs. each. The stories from people they know on it are the best. One daughter overheard a conversation at her work talking about eliminating carbs so got bold and asked if she was doing atkins. No, but her young son had allergies that at least 4 drs. couldn't figure out. finaly went to another that someone suggested and he immediatly told her he was allergic to carbs! So, as she had other children she decided to just go lo-carb for the family. No need to eat stuff in front of him he couldn't have. He was free of his severe allergies but the best thing was for the mother. She had been plagued with severe migraines for years, and has not had one since the diet! Over a year ago. When I mentioned this to someone I met in healthfood store looking for lo-carb stuff, Her husband just looked at her and said"you haven't had a headache in a long time" Other daughter works with several people who had been on this for some time. The main thing was the energy level they got. Instead of not being able to go anywhere after getting home from work, they are going strong and can do so much more. It is the best diet and we know as atkins is not the only one espousing lo-carb. It makes sense. Another friend of daughter went off insulin in a very short time. So hope these stories help. I cringe when I see people walk out of grocery who are overweight and are buying bread, rolls, chips, doughnuts, soda etc. I would like to tell them all how easy it would be to toss it all out and get good foods in their homes and eat right and feel so much better. I do understand tho. I have a daughter and dil who both need to lose a lot and can't seem to do it. Hope you are still doing atkins and feeling great. take care margie
