Hi, Has anyone used almond flour for bread? Here are the stats on almond flour: 1/4 cup equals 30 grams
Calories from fat 140
Total fat 15 grams
Sat. fat 1 gram
Total carbs 5 grams
Fiber 4.6 grams
Protein 7 grams Sugar 1 gram
I have on order the two kinds of almond flour. One is blanched which means the brown skin has been removed. With the brown skin left on it is called almond meal. Using the Atkins deduction of the fiber from the carbs, would leave 1 carb per quarter cup and regular flour has 22 carbs and no protein. I just might have bread again on special occaisions. The flour was $3.99 a lb. and the meal was $3.45 a lb. I found out about this flour when reading recipes on a diabetic site, and I am so looking forward to getting the flour and trying out my bread recipe.
After all this anticipation, it better taste good. LOL Any experience out there? comments?
