Re: Good friend doesn't realize
Hey, thanks a lot, although your response came too late. Everything is actually fine, somehow I managed to make up with her Monday. I don't know if anybody actually wants to know what happened, but I'll tell it anyway.
On Sunday, she said something about my roommate that made me angry, so I said something I shouldn't have and logged off quickly. I then took a walk outside to clear my mind, and when I had my thoughts together, I sent her an email telling her exactly what I thought of her, the possibility of us becoming more than friends, etc. Later, I logged back on and luckily I caught her just as she was going to bed. She hadn't read the email, but I told her to read it anyway. After she read it, she started explaining why she liked my roommate, what was so great about him, and I only got angrier. I then said something else which I regretted after I said it. I was so upset and angry I started drinking shots right out of the bottle. I know you're thinking "gee, he said he was 18." but that's not relevant to the story. I got really depressed, and was awake at 1 oclock in the morning cursing at myself.
The next day, I logged on to find her on-line, and we talked. She explained that we knew each other our whole lives, and we've been great friends since we were little. She even said that she barely slept the night before, thinking about me all night. She told me that if we ever did date, and for some reason broke up, we would both be devastated. So, I came to the conclusion that it really was better to just have her as a great friend. I felt so much better after hearing her say that, and I think it only made our friendship stronger.
Well, that's my story, I know it was long, and probably boring, but I felt I had to tell it. Thanks to everyone for their input. And ocean, although your response came later, I'm glad to know you actually care. Thanks.
