Re: Acid in esophagus, why?

I have taken Prevacid, Prilosec, and am currently on Protonix. While these medications have helped, they have by no means taken away all my reflux. I still sometimes have acid in my mouth, and I have burning chest pain on occassion. I have heard from friends who have this (and other stomach problems) that their doctors suggested they may have some mild reflux of bile. Apparantely this isn't harmful in adults if it happens only once in a while. I don't think the doctors fully understand it because it feels nearly the same as reflux from the stomach. If you don't already, try sleeping on an orthopedic "wedge" or raising your bed, this has helped me quite a bit. Best wishes.
