Re: Homeschool children + no vaccine = no autism

As someone who has asthma, and who has been vaccinated, I would personally believe that perhaps the asthma was in fact connected to the vaccine in the sense that my already sensitive and over-reactive immune system was triggered and made that much more sensitive, thereby resulting in the condition of asthma. Asthma is an autoimmune disease, like many others, and so may autism. Autoimmune diseases are known to cause inflammation, swelling, and pain in certain parts of the body (this destroys tissue and cells, and invites infection) - it depends on what body part is YOUR particular 'achilles heel' so to speak. Mine is my respiratory system, and my intestines, and my skin - I am also gluten-sensitive (related to celiac disease) and cannot handle harsh perfumes on my skin. I think the vaccines could definitely be a cause, but you also have to consider the individual's particular genetic make-up and how sensitive or over-active their immune system is to begin with. As for the mercury, I belive that perhaps in combination with an over-active immune system, the nervous system could be damaged by both mercury and the immune response in those individuals who are succeptible to such a condition. This is a very interesting topic, and I continue to discover how our individual immune systems (and genes) are directly linked to our chornic illnesses that result from immune-related inflammation.
