there is a local rancher here who was going to build his own lab and test every cow. one of his customers was concerned for her children and he thought yea, i would like to say every bite has been tested.

it is against the law to do this. the fda says that such labeling would confuse the market into thinking that any untested cattle were not safe. the economic burden of such a possiblity was too much to bear.

testing your own cows for mad cow is against the law. just like saying that something other than allopathinc medicine will cure people, when they get ready to enforce it. that will be the day the industry as a whole starts complaining about the pinch on the bottom line.
