Some Suggestions for Lucy.
Dear Lucy,
Your heartfelt letter brought tears to my eyes. I hope
you don't give up. I'm going to make some suggestions.
If any of them resonate with you -- set your intuition
to tingling -- I hope you'll follow up on them.
You say your serotonin levels are very low. That's a
BIG problem, Lucy. Serotonin is a neuro-transmitter,
one of about 40 inside each of your nerve cells (neurons). Your brain, spinal-cord, and nervous system
communicate with neuro-transmitters. If you're very
low in serotonin, you have a short-circuit in your
nervous system; one that could cause all kinds of problems, from
Depression to obesity.
An anology: imagine, Lucy, that you have a TV remote
in your hands; one that lacks the equivalent of serotonin. You click the remote, and the TV stays
black -- but the light in your kitchen comes on. Or
maybe your air-conditioner short-circuits. Lack of
serotnin in you, will cause one set of problems. The
same lack in me, could cause vastly different problems.
So you need to put serotonin into your neurons ASAP.
The foods that are highest in natural serotonin are
apricots, bananas, wheat germ, brown rice, legumes,
brewer's yeast, and nuts. Do you eat any of those foods? If not, stock up on some of them. I especially
recommend Brewer's Yeast Buds, made by Lewis Labs. I've
been taking a spoonful a day of their yeast buds and
yeast flakes for more than 20 years. And most days, I
eat all the other foods on that list, except apricots,
which are a special treat.
Even so, Lucy, your body won't be able to use the serotonin unless it, your body, is producing 5-HTP.
Your body makes 5-HTP from L-trytophan, which is commonly found in bananas and sunflower seeds. You may
have to buy a 5-HTP supplement, so you'll be sure that
your body can put the serotonin to good use. If you
can't find 5-HTP in the UK, you can buy it in the USA.
Tunies, here in South Florida, sells 60 caps of 100 mg
for $19.59. Their website is:

Ginseng also helps your body to metabolize serotonin.
In your place, I would buy the best ginseng, either
drops or capsules, that I could afford. I get my ginseng from Dragon Herbs in California. They import
the ginseng from remote areas of China. You can buy a
2
oz bottle of ginseng from them for about $25.00.
Their website is:
http://www.dragonherbs.com They also sell
much more expensive ginseng extracts. I also use a
product of theirs called Supreme Creation, which contains 16 wonderful healing herbs, including ginseng,
deer antler, and schizandra. 100 caps cost $55.00.
SAM-e and St. John's Wort also work with serotonin to
overcome depression, as does Noni fruit and juice.
Your intuition is telling you that you probably have
a virus that is attacking your immune system. I agree.
You've probably harbored that virus since you were a
toddler. How do you kill it, when so many remedies have failed?
My first suggestion may sound off-the-wall, but I assure you, Lucy, it isn't. You may have Lyme Disease.
Go to the Lyme Disease forum here at CureZone, and read
my three posts of Decemeber 20th, 2004. If that information resonates with you, you may want to have
Bowen Research Labs test you for Lyme disease. Doctor
David Williams, one of my heroes, says that up to 20
million Americans may have Lyme Disease -- and they don't know it. Why? Because Lyme Disease can mimic more
than 350 other diseases and degenerative conditions.
I'd also begin taking Pau d'Arco, an herb from the
Brazilian rainforest with a legendary reputation at killing viruses. I take a spoonful every third day as
insurance. In your place, I would be eating it every
day. I buy my Pau d'Arco from Raintree Nutrition. They
import it directly from South America. A pound of the
brown powder cost less than $20.00, a wonderful bargain. Raintree's website is:

My last suggestion for now, Lucy, is that you consider
getting some intravenous injections of vitamin C. I've
been using mega-doses of vitamin C for 28+ years, and
I've had only one cold in all that time. I'm in
perfect health at age 64, and I give the vitamin C
much of the credit. I take 14,000 mg every day (14 grams). If you go to the vitamin C forum, you can learn
a lot about the healing effects of vitamin C. I also
strongly suggest you buy a copy of Doctor Thomas Levy's
insgightful book, VITAMIN C, INFECTIOUS DIESASES, AND
TOXINS. It will teach you why your body, especially,
needs LOTS of vitamin C to help your immune system kill
that cowardly virus.
That's all for now, Lucy. Be assured that I will keep
you in my prayers. You're going through a Dark Night
of the Soul, but the Light may be closer than you think. Trust your deep intuition. One or more of these
suggestions may be what your body desperately wants so
it can heal itself. Keep us posted on your progress.
Blessings,
Owen
