Marburg hemorrhagic fever, a weaponized biological agent developed in Russia
about 15 years ago, has recently been raging in Nigeria. It is related to Ebola,
but is somewhat less lethal. Ebola tends to kill quickly and therefore an
epidemic tends to burn out. It is primarily spread via contact with body fluids,
Monkeys and bats may be the main carriers. About 15 years ago there was a small
outbreak in Ruston, New Jersey, from a research center working on Macaque
monkeys. Recently there have been rumors of cases around New York City.

Marburg fever is one of the hemorrhagic fevers. It destroys blood platelets and
causes the body to bleed within itself. Unlike Ebola, to can be contracted from
merely being close enough to a victim to breathe in viruses suspended in the
air. Exchange of body fluids, and touching a victims clothing or bedding is a
sure way to get the disease. After 2-3 days, the patient develops a severe
headache and high fever. Small hemorrhages appear in the skin by the third or
fourth day. The conjunctival membranes bleed--"bloodshot eyes"—

Then it quickly develops into generalized bleeding from every orifice. Large quantities of black bloody diarrhea, coughing bloody sputum, and finally liquefaction of the
internal organs. The lungs fill with serous, bloody fluid leading to
suffocation, and at the end, the body becomes a skin sack of infected fluid and
bones. Depending on the health of the immune system and the level of the virus
inoculum, death may ensue within a week or two, although perhaps 50% may live as
long as 6-8 weeks, meanwhile contaminating their surroundings with lethal
viruses.

The death rate may reach at least 70 percent, for the virus strengthens
as it passes through human bodies, and caregivers are very likely to become
infected. In contrast to Ebola's rapid kill rate, and because of the longer
course, Marburg has a tendency to spread from the central victim, as unwitting
contacts move about the town or city. One could be sitting on a bus near
somebody who is coming down with it, and be readily exposed. Standing in line at
the supermarket, or at the airport ticket counter could become very dangerous,
if the disease has been deliberately released in multiple areas. Wild and
unsubstantiated rumors are now circulating concerning Marburg being used in a
staged, false flag, biologic attack upon the United states in the next few days.
Naturally, in this case, martial law would be declared to enforce quarantine,
and no one would be allowed to leave the cities and towns in the area of the
outbreak.

There is no known effective treatment, although there are probably spurious
claims for the effectiveness of Colloidal Silver .
