Re: The Need To Know - A Husband's Perspective

I am very much in need of a way to be trusting of the care being given to me. Diagonsed with both lobular and ductal Breast Cancer I received an insision biopsy, followed by a masectomy of my right breast. Then it was time for the andrimycin-citoxen chemo. after completion of this I was shocked to learn that I now have to take Taxotere. After looking into the side effects of this drug. I am not sure I want to proceed. Along the way I was rushed into every decision with ideas of saving my life from various doctors.
The more I learn I realized there were choices that could have been made and that doctors tend to minimise everything I say or ask about with abbreviated answers, and attitudes like how dare I push them to answer my questions. I need to know statistics envolving my care and how on an average how long women usually live after taking this course, and, or if another course can give me better odds. I have 2 young children which means big decisions need to be made quickly. CAN YOU HELP? Please post a reply soon as I do not have e-mail yet. I will be checking. Thank-you for your time. God bless you and all you have done. Val
