The Terminator comes ready to use, though there is one accesorry that I am considering adding before I buy mine and that is the silver nodes over the pennies. It costs and extra $50 but eliminates 98% of skin irritation (no burns for me!) due to skin acidity. You can get those on it before you order at this site http://educate-yourself.org/dc/terminatorinfo12apr02.shtml But if you use the zapper regularly and balance your ph you should get to the point where there is no skin irritations anyway...so it is up to you wether or not to spend that extra $50.
