Hi Sarah

I doubt very much if acidophillus by itself will help eliminate Candida. You really need as many strains as possible because acidophillus is a lactobacilli and they work best only at the upper GI tract. The Bifidum bacteria are best for the lower GI tract like bowel/colon. Furthermore they must be protected against stomach acids and moreover must have colonizing strains. This means the bacteria can attach itself to your intestinal walls so that the treatment is permanent and can prevent recurrence.

Take a look at LB12 which has 12 strains with 5 colonizing strains.
