"Our legislators have not yet tangibly demonstrated the will to stop this onslaught. Nor are they likely to do
so unless they are made to believe that constituents will vote them out of office if they do not. To make
that happen, the " peace " movement must become a protest movement, and increase its numbers across
the political spectrum. There’s no time to waste; if protesters don’t act soon, they could face a time when
our laws make such organizing not only difficult, but criminal."

For me to take the preceding seriously, the following would have to
apply:

Our elected officials would have to place principle over public fervor lashed by
the Aministration's propaganda corps. For example, how many of the
Democratic Presidential candidates openly stood against the war?

Our elected officials would have to be more responsive to the rights
of their constituents than to the "true" motivator - political donations.
I can conceive of no legal activity that will wrest the power of the
"Iron Triangle" back into the hands of the people. The fuel of
government (political donations or cash) is less and less available
to the American majority.

In my opinion, protestors are but a minor distraction to the Haliburtons'
Carlyle groups and administrations bound at the hip. Our
military and diplomatic corp is merely an asset to the furtherance
of capitalist expansion for world-wide corporate and financial entities.

I feel 'totally powerless" relative to the dissolution of democratic
throughout the world.

Talk about opening-up and creating new markets... How about invading a
country, destroying its' infrastructure, then charging the broken
populace to rebuild that infrastructure. Even writing new laws that
insure the rebuilders get first dibs on the national assets. Now
that's capitalism!
