All I did was boil some filtered water in my kettle, much quicker than in a saucepan. Then I poured it into a stainless steel saucepan, used 2 strips of alfoil, folded to about 1cm strips. Held the strips at opposite ends of a C sized battery with one hand and then using the other hand I held the strips to the edge of the pan. One strip inside, one outside and just pinched them with my fingers to the rim of the pan.
