Re: Should I cleanse?
I would think that for someone in your position, it would be extra important to cleanse. With one kidney, you need to keep it in tip top working order. You can start gently if that would be comforting to you. I brother of mine was somewhat worried about the whole notion of cleansing and what it may do to you. He started out with Dr. Christopher's 3-Day Cleanse. It is basically a juice fast. It is very mild, but also starts the detox process. I would also start on
Dr. Schulze 's Superfood or Dr. Christopher's Vital Herbs to give you a boost of readily available, naturally source nutrients.

Once you make it through this cleanse, then moving to
Dr. Schulze 's cleanses will be easier and less threatening. The order is pretty straight forward.
1. Start with Superfood
2. Regulate your bowels to 2-3 BM's per day with Intestinal Formula #1
3. Do a deep
Bowel Cleanse with Instestinal Formula #2, used in conjunction with #1
4. Do a 5-Day cleanse of either the liver/gall bladder or kidney/bladder type - in your situation, I would suggest kidney/bladder - alternate 5 day cleases, doing one every three months
I don't know any specifics regarding phenytoin, but have found personally and through people with whom I have worked that cleansing makes the body's assimilation systems much more efficient for herbal preparations and for patent medicines. I don't know if appropriate cleansing and nutrition and herbal healing will take away the situation that is causing the seizures, but it is highly likely. If that is the case, perhaps you could wean yourself off of phenytoin. I'm certainly not suggesting it as a first step, but something to be investigated after you are well down the path of cleansing and natural healing.
I would not be afraid to cleanse, but I would suggest taking it slowly and at a pace with which you are comfortable.
