thyroidectomy

Help! I've just been told they want to remove my thyroid due to the results of a recent biopsy. I have two small kids(5 + 8) and i'm scared. How does one live without a thyroid and also is there anybody out there who has avoided surgery by doing an herbal cure? They've given me a couple weeks to "get things in order" before the scheduled date. Any comments would be most appreciated. Tweet
