All good points... and don't forget that dairy also contains tons of phosphorous, but no magnesium, necessary for calcium absorption. And that the nature of dairy calcium is that it deposits places other than in the bones, leading to painful calcifications and problems. It's somewhat "too big" to be absorbed as I understand.
In my opinion, humans don't "need" to consume dairy. Some probably DO benefit from it (To be sure, it would be better for a starving person eating only two handfuls of white rice daily to have a donation of dairy than continue starving) but at the same time I think most people with fairly healthy diets are actually doing themselves a dis-service. Especially considering all the things done to the milk these days. It ain't what it used to be! (pasteurization, homoginization,
Antibiotics , growth hormones/steroids, infections, etc.)
I don't think you or I are missing out by not eating dairy products but rather we are healthier for it. You can see lots of testimonials on here where people cut out dairy and their ailment improved.
