Re: Herb / Drug Interaction

Dear Pam, April 21, 2003

Well with my patients I would tell them to

JUST SAY NO TO DRUGS!
Stop taking them.

But if a person insists on taking drugs or needs time to wean off of them
They really don’t have to worry about taking herbal medications at the same time.

Sure almost all medical doctors will discourage this, but medical doctors have ABSOLUTELY NO TRAINING IN HERBAL MEDICINE.
They no NOTHING about it.

Most herbal medicines just feed the body nutrients and phytochemicals it needs to heal itself. In most cases drugs try and force the body into doing something so you don’t have to change your lifestyle.

I suggest anyone on drugs to start on step 1 of my book “Common Sense Health and Healing” and work their way through my many lifestyle changes, and in no time they can be DRUG FREE!

If a person has a particular drug/herb interaction or contraindication fear they should feel free to address it in this Ask Dr. Schulze Forum .

Thank you for asking this very important question and I hope my answer relieved a lot of peoples fears and anxieties on this subject.
