Re: Daughter Claims Abuse

At first he wanted to see her immediatly and address the issue but I convinced him to let me work through this with her. He only agreed to it if I immediatly get her into a pyschologist.
She says it was touching, never actual intercourse. She says that he used objects, pencils, pens, ect.. She says her dad and grandpa (his dad) were in the room together doing these things. This was the biggest reason I started to doubt her story. His dad (grandpa) lives in another state and only visits about once a year and always comes with his wife. Where would she have been, she doesn't know the area and I can't imagin she would venture out alone in a town she is unfamiliar with. I asked my daughter where grandma was and she can't give me anything other then, "I don't know."
I have her an appointment with a psychologist next week.
I have a girlfriend who says I should report it and let the authorities investigate. But I just would feel horrible to stir all this up and it be false. Especially since I have this gut feeling it is false. Am I being a bad mom by not reporting it? What if it is true? I'm so confused..........
