Re: My experience with exercise
Considering exercise... one key is to stop looking at exercise as something outside your regular routine, something to be added.
Try to seamlessly incorporate it into your day. Ten minutes 3 times a day is just as effective as setting aside 30 minutes all at once.
Do something everyday... to save(?)time involve as many muscle groups in each exercise as possible... heavier weights = less reps = less time, use super-sets, bodyweight exercises.
Some exercise possibilities from my day.
Push-up/Power-wheel while catching the news on CNN
Walk instead of ride
Dumbbells next to the easy chair for curls and presses.
Rubber tubing on the closet door for chest, shoulder, back, and assisted stretches
Exercise stations on the walking/bike trail for pull-ups, dips, balance.
Then there's hiking, gardening, playing with kids, household chores...
AND a regular schedule of weight training, less than 30 minutes 3 or 4 times per week. Involve large muscle groups, use super-sets, heavy weight, low reps for maximum time savings.
I'm open to any ideas that keeps my exercise plan from becoming a routine!
Best wishes,
Tom
