Here is a link to show that this may well be related to mycoplasma/chlamydia.

It may seem like a new problem to deal with, but it is also possible that the people who are
dying from this happen to be without the immunities to fight it off.
That would help to explain the low 4% death rate and the very old and the very young
are more susceptible.
