seizures from scarr tissue

I had brain surgery about 8 months ago. I have had 3 seizures(grand mal)the er dr. told me it was from scarr tissue from healing and I would have to be on medication for two years and could try and get off of it then. Has anyone reading this ever had similiar problem and did the seizures stop? Is there any herbs I could take to prevent seizures, so I would not have to take such hard core medication.
