Info or experience with VNS?

Hi, my name is Jane, my 15 year old little girl has developed a serious seizure disorder over the past several years. we are quickly exhausting the combinations of medicines prescribed by the doctors because she seems to metabolize them very quickly, rendering them usless (except for the side effects of course). we are looking into a series of treatement other than meds, because they are becoming more trouble than they are worth. Recently we have heard a bit about VNS. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with VNS, good or bad. I would love to hear some first hand stories about its effectiveness, and the procedure for getting it. At the moment i know very little about it. Thanks to anyone who can help me out, my daugher is very special to me, and i would love to find anything that could help her, if even just a bit.
