Questions

My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with Epilepsy 1 year ago. 3 Neurologists, 5 medicines later- I still know nothing. I am about to send her off on her own- as she goes to college. Prior to this- I just accepted it all- as I was there. Now I will not.

Her first seizure was 25 minutes long, gran mal- OR 3 seperate seizures without gaining conscienceness (as the 2nd Neuro told us) Her fist EEG showed spike activity in both of her temporal lobes. More in the right than the left. MRI & CT normal.

all of her sz's are in her sleep. Not all of them have been gran mals. Some I really don't know if they are sz's or some sleep disturbance that has started since. She gets up during the night- She has moved heavy furniture- for no apparent reason. She has also gone around unplugging electrical devices. I can't wake her. All I can do is lead her back to bed. She NEVER remembers these & wakes the next morning with headachs, sore lips from biting them. She also has had episodes of babbling & yelling while pounding on doors.

How can I tell if these are sz's? The new Neuro says they are not- as she does not wet herself. But she didn't wet herself the first time either.

IF these are seizures- then her meds are not working. If they are not sz's then what am I dealing with?

She also has told me that she hasn't dreamt since her first sz. Do epileptics dream?

Any help with this would be appreciated. With the E questions & sending her off to college with E.

Thank you
