I acquired epilepsy at the age of 16, from a car accident. I had my
first seizure after 3-4 months when the accident occurred. Through my
teens and early 20ís Iíd have a seizure
on the average of every 3-4 months as well. By the time I was 27 I felt
I was coming to terms with keeping my epilepsy under control. I acquired
a new doctor whom I liked and he was confident he could control my
seizures. Of course my 64,000-dollar question was ìDo you think Iíd be
able to eventually come off my medication?î Like all my previous doctors
he doubted that I would be able to come off my medicine (Depakote). I
cannot tell you how many other pharmaceutical drugs I tried out. To make
a long story a little shorter, basically
my life seemed to be dictated by pharmaceutical side effects and
seizures. I did manage to go 4 years without a seizure however that came
to an end as of October 2001. I was in a car accident with my father
prior to that one. I did not hit my head in that one but I believe that
was to be a contributing factor. Another month later I had another
seizure. So after 4 years of keeping my seizures ìat bayî I had 2 within
2 months. I was also slowly reducing my medication in efforts that I
believed I was starting to get my life back. Needless to say I had high
expectations and was very hopeful. The side effects of depakote made me
very depressed, tired, and unmotivated. I was trying to ditch the side
effects of depakote. (Anti-depressant my ass.) So needless to say I was
very depressed after the seizure in October of 2001. After the seizure
in November, I started to seriously contemplate the idea of suicide.
I just couldnít stand the idea of being prisoner to my condition any
longer.
At this point I was pretty desperate for something to happen. Now
Iím not a deeply religious person, but I must confess that I did ask for
Godís help and guidance. Finally,
something did happen. I typed in ìalternative cures for epilepsyî. I
cannot tell you how many times I just typed in ìepilepsyî. So I took my
giant leap of faith and within two or three days after using epilep-ease
I was noticing significant differences. Now my favorite part of the day
is waking up. My eyes pop right open, and I feel totally refreshed. I
get good sleep. I donít take mid day naps anymore or do not feel the
necessity to do so. I feel that Iím in total control of situation. Iím
no longer saddened, angered, or depressed by my life.
People around me do see a difference in my appearance. I feel as if I
get more oxygen to my brain, therefore improving my thinking and my
interactions with other people. Not to mention some other problems not
even related to my epilepsy have cleared up. I even bought myself a
calendar because Iím looking forward to this year. I know this sounds a
little crazy. I honestly feel re-born; a new lease on life is the best
way to describe it. I am hopeful and confident of good things to come. I
truly believe that the good people and products of Circle of Health are
a ìGod Sendî. Maybe I am a little bit more spiritual now than I was, but
that is a good thing. Thanks again Circle of Health and I would like to
especially like to thank Laksman for what I felt to be a guiding voice
in my ìLeap of Faith.î I grade all my days. This new year has been
either been all Aís or A+ís. thank you for helping me to help myself.
Sincerely,
Tim, Chicago.IL
